Food Blogs PDF Print E-mail

There are some delicious food blogs happening out there ~ here are some of my favorites.

http://www.zarela.com/

Restaurateur Zarela Martinez offers up a breathtakingly beautiful website full of recipes, lessons, information and insight into Mexican and South American cooking -- and communicates her deep love and appreciation for fresh, seasonal traditional ingredients.

http://ciachef.blogspot.com/

Culinary Institute of America students, faculty and alumni share their experiences and insights in this shared blog, Insight from the Inside

http://www.davidlebovitz.com/

American pastry chef extraordinaire David Lebovitz shares his experiences as a foreign foodie living in Paris.  Reading this gives great insight into the mind of one creative chef!  Great blog, and fantastic recipes.  David's adventures with his small French kitchen (and its fickle equipment) are a hoot.

 http://crystalbyblog.blogspot.com/

You may not have access to green curry, udon or china nai bai, but if you are interested in Asian/Pacific Rim cooking you might enjoy visiting Crystal's blog.  Coming straight to you from Singapore (though in English), Crystal's blog features vegetarian, Asian-inspired recipes with plenty of photos.  I just love her innovative cooking style, and the charming way she uses simple items (like complementary-colored magazine pages) arranged in beautiful ways for her photography.  Very cool.

http://suzannemcminn.com/how-to-do-stuff/the-farmhouse-table/

Suzanne McMinn packed her kids in the car and moved to a very rural part of West Virginia to start a life of farming, writing, and cooking.  On her beautiful Chickens in the Road blog Suzanne shares many delicious country recipes that capture the essence of West Virginia farm life.

http://www.rootsandgrubs.com/

Matthew Amster-Burton is a Seattle-based food writer with a divine appreciation for fat and a pretty neat blog.  He reads widely on what is new and fabulous in the West Coast food scene--and it's nice to see some lively discussion of nutritional components of food.  And fat. *sigh*

http://divinacucina.blogspot.com/

Oh, to be in Italy again!  Visit Diva Judy's Divina Cucina--Over a Tuscan Stove if you love Italian cooking but can't make it to Florence.  She shares pics, thoughts, and glorious recipes straight from the land of artichokes and Sangiovese.  Judy is also a Slow Food supporter, as you might guess.  A lovely blog!

http://foodiefarmgirl.blogspot.com/

The  ultimate, the fabulous, the Queen of the rural foodie bloggers ~ it's Foodie Farmgirl Susan coming to you straight from, uh, somewhere in Missouri.  Or something.  I think.  Seriously, this blog is chock full of yummy recipes and plenty of pics of Susan's farm critters.  I want to be her when I grow up.

http://www.obsessionwithfood.com/

Derrick Schneider's Obsession with Food (and Wine) is a great blog hailing from the San Francisco area.  Derrick writes about food and wine for a variety of West Coast publications, and he teaches wine classes as well.  Derrick does alot of research on food and wine, and it's oh-so-convenient for the rest of us to read his analysis and insight.  He is also a member of the Slow Food movement--which makes him OK in my book.

Food and Health

http://thefooddoc.blogspot.com/

The Food Doc is also known as Colorado gastroenterologist Dr. Scot Lewey.  Dr. Lewey blogs on all sorts of digestive health issues; I like his research-based articles.  Interesting reading, especially for anyone who suffers from digestive disorders.
